Glenn Canares, DDS, MSD

Dr. Canares received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from New York University and completed his pediatric dental residency and master's degree at the University of Washington.   Dr. Canares comes to us from Lutheran Medical Center in Rhode Island, where he was a faculty member in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and received the Faculty of the Year Award prior to joining us at Southgate Dental Care.  In addition, he holds memberships in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and is Board Certified for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

With extensive training in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Canares feels strongly about properly introducing children to dentistry so they may benefit from good oral health as adolescents and adults.  Dr. Canares believes in comprehensive dental care for children and employs many behavior guidance techniques such as Tell-Show-Do.  Dr. Canares understands the importance of patience and compassion, striving to give his patients optimal care and the best experience possible at every visit.  Dr. Canares is looking forward to working with our community and providing his expertise in Children's Dentistry.

Dr. Canares was born and raised in New Jersey and had worked as a corporate auditor in New York City prior to his career in dentistry.  Dr. Canares enjoys working out and traveling with his wife, Therese, who also works with children at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician.
